I REALLY dig the intro to this St. Stephen I haven't listened to the rest of the show yet and it sounds like the whole band is singing in a different universe, can't blame this one on poor Donna they are ALL all over the place for the first half of this one but musically I really love it..... coming into NFA now.....sounding real good....this one will be getting a good once over the whole way through. GOD BLESS THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS GOOD STUFF!!!!

this show is best known for the Close Encounters theme that Garcia noodles out during space...however, there are other juicy tidbits that elevate this show further, including...Tennessee Jed, Terrapin Station and the Other One...the show is sloppy but the energy and jams more than make up for it...

Yeah Strat, I had this on tape way back when and the Close encounters is what brought it to my attention this time around. The tape I had was c- at best so hearing it this time is like a whole new show (I *think* this is even a step up from what was on here before). Bout' like you said, there is a couple all around high spots, but the jamming is what gives this one its power, to me this is what the Dead were... 70's are where it's at, I dig the early stuff too but give me a late 70's anyday!!
